It will be times that logical thinking is what is needed it and others, common sense. Knowing when to choose the appropriate one, there is wisdom. Pretty sure any situation in which logic gets a different answer than common sense, logic should be chosen… To me common sense is just a shortcut which our brains use to save time and energy when thinking about scenarios. Therefore, it may not be practical to use logic all the time which is where your conclusion that sometimes common sense is useful comes in , but when logic is used and it contradicts common sense, there would be no reason to use common sense instead.

Thus, the "ground" for some rules like : "if a and b, then a" and "if a, then a or b" can be found in the "usual" way we speak.
Improve this answer. Apologies if this is very basic but are you saying that logic depends on human linguistics. So an alternative linguistic system would have different logic?
I thought previous that logic was just 'out there' a priori i guess — Crab Bucket. CrabBucket - logic ana mathematics are the "best candidates" to the status of a priori knowledge; still, there are some evidence against According to some point of view, linguistic capacity is innate and not conventional - see Chomsky ; thus, we have a sort of "firmware" programmed to support us in the learning process of language.
It seems that there are limits to the "possible" languages we can learn and use. If so, is there the "source" of our "logical" capabilities? Also linguistic capactity when seen gramatically, can be seen axiomatically.

Critical thinking involves rational and unbiased analysis or evaluation of factual evidence. A person with critical thinking skills will always engage in reflective and independent thinking. They will always question ideas and assumptions and analyze them critically without accepting them at face value.
They also identify, analyze, solve problems systematically, instead of by instinct or intuition. Critical thinking involves a process with several steps. The first step is identifying the problem or question. Then find sources that give different ideas and points of view relevant to this issue. Next, analyze and evaluate the data you have found. Logic is the science of sound reasoning. Common sense is the sense we humans hold and exercise in common. Common sense however is not always accurate and can sometimes be based on assumptions, social acceptance and no facts.
Logic is the system or set of rules that governs correct reasoning. Logical thinking is a method of thinking in accordance with that system or set of rules. Common sense, as defined by several scholars, is inborn rational thinking that happens naturally in rational humans.
Critical thinking integrates judging a scenario on the basis of studied reasoning, where the individual consciously and purposely focuses on a subject. The definition of common sense refers to having sound judgment, not necessarily based on specialized knowledge. When you are smart, level-headed and able to understand and assess a situation, this is an example of having a lot of common sense. Common sense is about practical intelligence. It might even be about knowing when to break small rules for the purpose of complying with bigger or more important rules and desired outcomes.
Every person is different and has a varying degree of natural common sense in their personality. Developing common sense can seem like a difficult thing, but you can easily practice using common sense by being more aware and reflecting on situations before you make decisions. No way are you born with common sense that simply manifests itself as you grow up!
