Can you suppress an m1a

If I were buying a can for any gas gun I would use this one. Last edited: Feb 12, FatBoy After 20 years, going anonymous.. Jul 29, 1, 1, TN. You may send Ron an email with Allen Engineering. Very easy guy to talk and his cans top notch as well. We lost the data on the old scout forum, but maybe hit up the vintage section for the TBAC Scionics build can for a customer's m I think pmclain built it but I may be wrong on this, it's been awhile.

Maybe monolove? Silencer shop suggested the Rugged Surge suppressor. The Qd locking system looks great. Jan 22, Arizona. It ran pretty well with the standard gas plug, I put in a Schuster adjustable and you can tune it to drop the brass right next to you. Of course doing this will not give enough gas to cycle with the can off.

I cant see shooting it unsupressed once i have the can and setup. Unless you have a folding stock on her, she is going to be long. Man she is a pig to handle anyway. Quoted: If you want to experiment with a cheap one for fun, UTG makes one. Quoted: I forgot about those guys that made your side adapter. See I think that if you build one to fit the stripper clip guide, with enough mounting holes to mate up with most of the popular red dots on the market that they would sell especially for those that have a Socom or a scout.

It doesn't have to be steel, it could be aluminum. A threaded hole for a set screw to hold it in place in the receiver and the appropriate mounting holes I'm fairly certain that they would be pretty popular. Quoted: You and I are thinking alike. The mounting base for the Strike industries adapter does all of what you mention. Quoted: Quoted: Dog1, can you share what scope and mount you're using there?

Quoted: Thanks Dog1. I'm also considering mounting up an Ultimak I came across the other day. Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: Dog1, can you share what scope and mount you're using there?

Hopefully in about 11 months maybe less, I'm really hoping less, my Socom will be mounting my Yankee Hill Resonator 30 caliber can. Spent some time at the range today with the Shuster adjustable gas plug and my YHM Resonator and what I found is that you can't have it all.

Take the can off and it was a bolt action. So now the options are commit to the can or keep both gas plugs on hand and swap them as needed. If it's a QD can and you can swap it from gun to gun then do it. I have guns in the safe that have never been shot without a suppressor on them, and don't have their own dedicated one either. Quoted: I have blasted like hell with my suppressed m1a scout. No issues with anything in the face. OP has nice straightforward set up. Here's mine Quoted: Which stock is that in the bottom picture? Quoted: It's an amalgamation of 3 different companies.

All the parts fit together without modding them. Here is the buildup and explanation of all the parts. One in Black and one in sage green. The green one will likely get painted black. Then put on the adapter and the side folding stock. The green one has the smaller side folder also made by SIG. It is on an M1A Socom View Quote Low blowback or no blowback suppressor would fix you right up I did replace the gas lock with one that had a rail on it and just moved my front sight off the flash hider to that.

Zero did not change. Suppressor is a AAC 7. That is plenty. It works well. My gas lock is the Smith Enterprise one. I have never had an issue withbgas in the face with mine.

Wile E Coyote or Getnlwr Any chance you can post pics of the front end with and without your suppressor? Cheers, U2AV8R. Will be later on tonight. Regard your soldiers as your children, and they will follow you into the deepest valleys; look on them as your own beloved sons, and they will stand by you even unto death.

Sun Tzu. Ummm Gemtech suppressor, flash suppressor mount Standard M1A Flip the switch for subsonic Don't worry about others Three different points of aim. I still having issues with accuracy, scope may be broke. Maybe it's not going to be hearing-safe but so what? It's not like a suppressed AR is hearing-safe, why expect it from a much more powerful cartridge?

I have a Schuster gas plug but I think maybe it's more trouble than it's worth. Post by Sigproshooter » Sat Nov 22, pm I don't get anymore blowback with the can than I do without it. AWC mods the spindle when you order the can, as a part of the job. And both are a hell of a lot quieter with cans than without. So I will never agree that it is not worth the money. In regards to blowback, I don't get anything in my face with a can on either the M25 or Sig I hate shooting any AR with a can.

It sprays s--t in my face and fouls up 4 x as bad as a regular DI gun. Post by boogyman » Sun Mar 29, pm Sigpro, Who did your spindle mods? Never mind, I just needed to read your last post! Thanks anyway! Last edited by boogyman on Sun Mar 29, pm, edited 1 time in total.
